Got my notification of assignment eligibility today. The Air Force has three assignment rotation cycles, and mine will begin 1 Oct. I've been stationed here with the Army for three years, and it's time to go get "re-blued." I'm looking forward to it although the Air Force, in all their wisdom, has decided to pull this slot back to their training location so the Army is out one instructor. I feel bad for my course director, but I'm just a lowly Captain so I salute sharply and pray for an assignment to England. Or one to Whiteman AFB, where we'll be just two hours away from my sister-in-law and her new baby. Anyway, it's nice to know the AF hasn't forgotten me out here in Army-land.

CCM's Album of the Year is a dark, brooding, honest look into the heart of every man. Standouts are the title song, Dead Man (Carry Me), and Surprise.
