Almost all the water coming downstream gets shunted through here. This is why you can't swim here anymore.
These depressions fill with dirt and grass, and sometimes water. I thought the effect was pretty cool.
This is a perfect shot of the reason this is called an "exfoliation dome." As the granite weathers it flakes off and slides down the sides of the dome.
I don't remember Texas having this many ferns, but they were under nearly every rock at Enchanted Rock SP.
